Truth

Truth is one of those words that is often used but seldom understood. A soldier on the battlefield is fighting for a set of values that they believe to be true. The average church member has heard the word “truth” spoken from the pulpit many times, but can they define it?

Jesus said, “I am the truth”. The Bible teaches, ‘the truth will set you free’. One of the legendary lines in the old song, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, says, “and His truth goes marching on”.

But just as Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?”, so we will also be asking, “What does it mean?”
