VBS 2026 - MEGA SPORTS CAMP - Coming July 26 – 30
First Church of God, LaGrange, Indiana
MEGA Sports Camp® Mission Cup VBS invites kids to view their sports as an opportunity to make a difference, inspired by the excitement and purpose behind the world’s biggest soccer competition. This theme connects kids’ passion for sports with their journey of faith, showing them how athletic skills and dedication can be used to make a positive impact and fulfill the unique purpose God has for their lives.
Just as athletes dedicate themselves to rigorous training with the goal of reaching the world’s biggest competitions, Mission Cup teaches kids to live “on mission.” Like the soccer stars who compete on the world stage, kids will be challenged to develop qualities that make a lasting impact: To show focus on what truly matters, respect to others, humility in victory, endurance in challenges, and leadership in uncertainty.
Sunday July 5th the Sermon: Josiah and the Lost Book
This Sunday, we bring the message “Josiah and the Lost Book.” LaGrange First Church of God, 9:00 am and 10:30 am.
Since the beginning of this nation, the Bible has served as an anchor of truth and a guiding force, determining right and wrong. It was given to us by God so that we can learn what He has done for us and how to please Him. It tells of His love and how Jesus died for our sins by shedding His own blood on the cross.
Our founders saw the Bible as an anchor for this nation, guiding us to live lives that will ensure God's future blessing.
The Book speaks to us about the future, about heaven and our eternal home with our Creator, but it also speaks to us about the past and warns us so that we can learn from those who lived long ago.
The story of Josiah and the Lost Book is found in 2 Kings Chapter 2, and it is just such a warning. A warning for America.
Ro 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
This Sunday we celebrate our freedom and God's blessing, and take seriously the warning God has planted in the middle of His written word.
I look forward to seeing you at either 9:00 am or 10:30 am.
